Fabio Echavarria. MD
Board Certified Internal Medicine
Originally from Colombia, S.A., Dr. Fabio Echavarria graduated from the University of Antioquia, School of Medicine. After graduation, Dr. Echavarria provided medical services and recommendations to the country’s professional cycling team during national and international competitions. In addition, he worked as a general practitioner for seven years. In 1992 he moved to the United States to continue advance medical training.
Dr. Echavarria worked for two years in closed association with the South Florida AIDS Network (SFAN) at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida. Dr. Echavarria completed a medical internship in 1997 and in 1999 a residency in internal medicine at Wilson Memorial Hospital in Binghamton, New York. Dr. Echavarria gained recognition as the “Intern of The Year” for his leadership skills, his patient care, and commitment to the advancement in the field of medicine.
In 1999 Dr. Echavarria relocated to Orlando, Florida where he worked as a Board Certified in Internal Medicine for 3 more years. Dr. Echavarria decided to emulate his father while at the same time pursuing his child-hood dream of opening up his own medical office. In 2002 Dr. Echavarria proudly open the doors to his medical practice in Clermont, Florida.
Dr. Echavarria received the Outstanding Community Service Award for his work with the indigent population. He is a current member of the American College of Physicians, the Colombo-American Medical association (COAMED), and the Accountable Care Organization: Primary Partners.
He is happily married to Gladis Parra a Registered Nurse and the Executive Nurse manager at his practice. Dr. Echavarria and his wife shared their home and love for their daughter Sara. In his time off, Dr. Echavarria enjoys cycling and outdoor sports, dancing, and spending time with family and friends.
